BBQ Paneer Naanizzas

Finally I found time to post about this super duper quick recipe I made for my friends over the weekend. Now just an FYI that BBQ's at our place has almost become like a tradition to us since we first bought our house like 8 years back. Since then we host one every year and invite everyone of our friends to come and unwind and have fun with lots n lots of grilled food, Indian fusion food and of course drinks, cuz what's a BBQ without some booze.... right ;)

Now each year I find something different to make along with my staples that everyone loves like grilled paneer, corn, chicken etc.. Most of my family and friends are vegetarians and so whenever I have BBQ's at home I have more of veggie options than oppose to non-veg. This year we decided not to have any large gatherings or a BBQ cuz of obvious reasons but when my closet pals were coming over for a small get together of 6 at our place I decided to make a EAT IN BBQ experience for them and cooked recipes that can be cooked on a GRILL by cooking them in my oven and gas-stove.

Like I mentioned that my friends are vegetarians and so is my husband and most of my family they have never tasted the good ole AMERICAN BBQ flavor like some BBQ CHICKEN WINGS or some BBQ RIBS. The only BBQ flavor they have tried in food is the BBQ flavored potato chips and dip we get at MCDONALDS. So I decided to make a VEGGIE option filled with just BBQ flavor and turn it into something even I never tried before. In comes the idea of making a fusion which I named BBQ PANEER NAANIZZAS. You can make them as appetizers or one of the main course dish along with some burgers and fries like I did. Cook them on the grill or the oven or even on pan. Just cover the pan with lid and cook on a slow flame.

The indian ingredients in terms of PANEER and MINI NAAN, the good ole BBQ sauce and onions, peppers, mozzarella cheese and some herbs and spices....YUMMMMMMM. I was surprised myself of how well the flavors came together and turned into a new favorite special I will be making for my BBQ's in the coming years. And you know how much time it took to put together just 45 mins and if you cook it on a GRILL it would probably be done in 10 mins considering the amount of heat grill has.

So here is a quick recipe and list of ingredients for my amazing BBQ PANEER NAANIZZAS!!

PREP TIME: 10 Mins COOK TIME: 30 MINS SERVINGS: Makes 12 Mini Naanizzas

Ingredients:

1 Stone fired Mini Naan packet (I got it from COSTCO)

You can use regular naan as well just don't use frozen ones.

1 Bottle Kraft Sweet Honey BBQ Sauce (18 oz)

You can use any sweet honey BBQ sauce you have or like

1 Nanak Malai Paneer cube (12 oz)

1 Green Bell pepper

1 Teaspoon Red chili flakes

1 Teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 Teaspoon Garlic Powder

Shredded Mozzarella Cheese as required

Cilantro For Garnish

1 Large Onion Sliced length wise

Step 1: Chop the Paneer and green bell pepper to bite sized pieces. Slice the onion length wise.

Step 2: In a mixing bowl empty the BBQ sauce bottle and add in the dry spices mentioned above. Now add in the paneer and green pepper chopped and mix well. You can add in more dry spices if you like I wanted the BBQ flavor to come through nicely so I just added little for seasoning.

Step 3: Let the mixture marinate for like 10-15 mins or so and pre heat the oven to 375 Degrees Fahrenheit and line a cookie sheet with silver foil. Drizzle some olive oil or any oil to the silver foil to prevent the naan sticking to the foil.

Step 4:- Place the mini naan on the cookie tray lined with foil and add couple of spoons of marinated paneer and green peppers to your liking on the mini naan. Add in the sliced red onions to your liking and sprinkle some shredded mozzarella cheese and some corinader for garnish.

STEP 5: Place the tray in the oven and bake till cheese is melted and naan are crispy and golden brown on all sides. Serve hot. SLIDE FOR PICS.
